Destination 4: Give it Away

Your challenge this week is to give away a Bible. You can use one of your own, buy one, or use one of the NorthWest New Testaments available at the back of the sanctuary. Here are suggestions about who you should give them to and how to give them.

Give the Bible along with some baked goods or fresh produce to a neighbor. “Here are some cucumbers, and our church is giving these Bibles away if you’d like one.”
Give the Bible to people waiting for the bus.
Give the Bible to people at a park.
If you’re giving it to a stranger simply say, “Hi, our church is giving away these Bibles. Would you like one?”
Give the Bible to a co-worker. “I don’t know if you would like this or not, but this is a book that’s really important to me. I’d like you to keep it if that’s okay.”
Make sure to respect your work place’s religion policies.
Give a Bible to a family member you know who needs one.
Take some Bibles to a homeless shelter, children’s home, foster family, or nursing home.
Go door to door and offer people free carpet cleaning. When they say “no” hand them a Bible and run away.

Okay so the last one was just to see if you were paying attention. Be creative and hand out those Bibles! This week lets report by putting down a “tally” of how many Bibles we gave away.
