Missions

NorthStar is always seeking to be involved in what God is doing in His world.

Going over there...

Through the Southern Baptist Convention NorthStar helps support more than 5,000 international missionaries who are feeding the hungry, healing the sick, teaching those who need it most, and most importantly sharing the hope of Jesus Christ.  As a church we are always seeking how we can be involved in God's global mission.

Working where we are...

This summer we are looking for even more ways to work in our community outside the walls of our church.  We are going to try to work with unchurched families in apartment complexes, trailer parks, housing developments or wherever we can find them.  This summer we are going to try to do this through Backyard Bible Clubs.  Please pray for us as we try to be an authentic voice for Christ's love in our community.

Being Prepared for "Whatever..."

God has given us an opportunity through Disaster Relief to be prepared to help people in their greatest times of need.  At NorthStar there are a large number of us who have gone through the training needed to respond in the event of large and small scale disasters.

Impacting culture...

Be believe that God's mission is about more than simply trying to get people in the doors of our church.  We want to have a Jesus-like impact on our culture.  That's why we have served at events like the Polar Plunge, the Beast Feast, the Ironman Triathalon, and the City-wide Clean-up.  We've helped raise money for Open Arms Pregnancy Care Center and Real Choices clinic.  Our members are encouraged to get involved in the community individually as well.  Our hope is that through these events, by helping out with social service organizations, and individually serving and connecting with our friends, co-workers and neighbors we can be like a light in a dark place for Christ.
